The first reactions to Alien Romulus have hit social media after the 20th Century Studios films premiere. The sci-fi-horror-thriller takes the phenomenally successful Alien franchise to new depths, and critics are calling it a "bonkers roller coaster ride" and "a must-see for fans of the genre."
Directed by Fede Álvarez, who co-wrote it with Rodo Sayagues, Alien Romulus follows a group of young space colonists who are scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station when they stumble upon a deadly secret. The film stars Cailee Spaeny, Danny Huston, Michelle Yeoh, and David Dencik.
Early reactions to the film have been overwhelmingly positive, with many critics praising Álvarez's direction and the film's suspenseful atmosphere.
