Jamaican sprinter Danielle Williams stormed to victory in the women's 100m at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary, on Sunday, claiming her first global title in the event.
The 29-year-old, who finished fourth at the Tokyo Olympics last year, clocked a time of 10.94 seconds, edging out American ShaCarri Richardson and Ivorian Marie-Josée Ta Lou, who finished second and third with times of 10.95 and 10.97 seconds respectively.
Richardson, who was only just made it into the women's 100m final qualifying from one of the non-automatic spots, looked emotional after the race as she celebrated with a US flag.
