Mariners complete historic treble
Gosford heroics secure maiden FFA Cup
Edmondson's double sinks Victory in extra-time thriller
The Central Coast Mariners have etched their name in Australian football history after completing an historic treble with a dramatic 3-1 extra-time victory over Melbourne Victory in the FFA Cup final at Industree Group Stadium on Saturday night.
With the Premiers Plate and AFC Cup already in the trophy cabinet, Nick Montgomery's men became the first A-League Men's club to claim all three major honours in the same season.
It was a match that had everything, with end-to-end action, VAR drama and late heroics.
The Mariners took an early lead through Jason Cummings, but Victory hit back through Bruno Fornaroli to send the game to extra-time.
Substitute Ryan Edmondson proved to be the hero for the Mariners, scoring two late goals to seal the famous win.
